Cookie Policy
We keep data collection minimal. This page explains the cookies and local storage technologies used on LOCAL Temecula.
Last updated: October 5, 2026
1. What are cookies and local storage?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device by websites you visit. Local storage is a similar browser technology that lets a site store information on your device without sending it to a server. Both help a site remember settings and load faster on repeat visits.
2. What we use
LOCAL Temecula does not use advertising or tracking cookies. We use the following necessary and functional categories. Browser-only statistics preferences are described below:
- Necessary / functional local storage: accessibility preferences and saved places. These are stored in your browser and are not sent to our servers.
- Session / authentication cookies: The owner dashboard uses a secure, HTTP-only sign-in cookie (
__Host-lcn-owner) lasting up to seven days and a one-time passkey challenge cookie (__Host-lcn-challenge) lasting five minutes. Both use SameSite=Strict. Signing out invalidates the current session. - Third-party content: map tiles and embedded videos may load from external providers. Those providers may set their own cookies under their own policies.
3. How long data is kept
Local storage items remain on your device until you clear them through your browser settings. Owner sign-in cookies may persist across browser restarts until their seven-day expiry or sign-out. Passkey challenge cookies expire after five minutes. We do not build advertising profiles or sell data derived from cookies or local storage.
4. Managing your preferences
No analytics consent popup is shown. Only the limited measurement described below is used where a no-consent basis has been established; you can object through the inline footer control. You can clear cookies and local storage at any time through your browser settings, which resets accessibility preferences and saved places for the current Local Temecula site. Privacy-preserving site statistics and the inline opt-out are described below. Advertising tracking is not enabled; technologies requiring consent will be handled separately.
You can also reach us through our contact form for privacy or data questions.
5. Changes
We may update this policy as the site evolves. The date above shows the current version.
Privacy-preserving site statistics
We use limited first-party aggregate statistics to improve our guides and fix navigation problems. Where we have established a no-consent basis (currently visitors located in the United States and United Kingdom), this can measure public page loads, time a page is visible, scrolling, referral-source categories and coarse request location. Browser analytics are disabled for other or unknown locations. In the UK, measurement is limited to page loads, visible engagement and scroll depth, not advertising performance or click attribution. No popup or visitor login is required for this limited measurement.
Statistics are stored as hourly totals for up to 90 days. We do not store IP addresses, visitor or session identifiers, full referral URLs, query strings, fragments, form contents or email addresses in our audience-statistics table. We do not fingerprint visitors, follow people across sites, combine statistics with accounts or voting records, or send them to advertising networks. State or region is used only for US requests; other eligible locations use country only. Link clicks counted in the US are navigation intents, not completed votes or purchases. Statistics are not independently verified unique-human counts.
Cloudflare processes network requests, including IP addresses, to host and secure these services. Our first-party measurement derives only coarse location and immediately increments aggregate counters; individual event payloads are not retained by our analytics code. Hosting and security logs are separate from these statistics. Basic Cloudflare traffic reports remain separate and can include crawlers. Where relevant, our basis for this limited measurement is our legitimate interest in improving the website, subject to your right to object.
You can turn browser statistics off free of charge using the inline footer control, without signing in. We also respect Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track. A preference is saved only when you use the control, solely to remember your choice on this browser and site; it contains no visitor identifier. No analytics cookie is set. Automated browser tests, recognized crawler agents, private account/operations pages and marked internal tests are excluded. If we add advertising or other tracking that requires consent, we will seek that consent separately. Existing form, voting and marketing choices remain separate.
